About produqt

produqt compares what the same product costs at different Portuguese supermarket chains, and shows which of those chains have a store near you.

Where the prices come from

• We read the public product listings of Continente and Auchan's online shops, a few pages at a time, so every price is re-read about every day or two. We follow each site's robots.txt.
• These are online-shop prices, the same across the country for each chain. A shelf price in a particular store can differ, and promotions in the leaflet or the loyalty app are not always online.
• Every price shows when we last saw it. A price not seen for a week is marked as such rather than shown as current.

How products are matched

Two listings are the same product only when they carry the same barcode (EAN), read from each chain's product page. We never match by name alone, so a chain's own-brand product is never compared with a different brand's. A product we have not matched yet shows one chain only.

Stores

Store locations are from OpenStreetMap (opens openstreetmap.org) contributors (ODbL). Chains whose prices we do not read yet (Pingo Doce, Lidl, Aldi, Intermarché, Mercadona) are shown as stores only.

Who we are

produqt is an independent project. It is not affiliated with any of the chains, and no chain pays to be listed. To report a wrong price or ask for a correction, use the feedback form. A person reads every message.
